Callsigns may be either fictive or real. Hams are sometimes used as consultants, and since we like to promote
the hobby wherever possible, there may be hidden messages in a movie, especially when morse code (CW) is used.

| Blast from the past | 1998 | Brendan Fraser Alicia Silverstone Christopher Walken Sissy Spacek | About 6 minutes into this comedy, a Hallicrafters S-40 is briefly displayed. ID by: SM0OFV. |
| Blå måndag (Blue monday) | 2001 | Göran Gillinger Eva Röse Viktor Bolin Linda Ulvaeus | This is one of the crappiest movies I've ever seen. However, it qualifies for this area as we can see in the beginning when a classic Motorola GP-300 is clearly visible. During a shootout towards the end, we can briefly see a police officer grab an Ericsson P-305 from his patrol car. A fun fact is that most of this movie was shot in my home town, Solna. | Contact | 1997 | Jody Foster Matthew McConaughey Tom Skerritt Angela Bassett | In the beginning of the movie, young Ellie, with callsign W9GFO, sits by her ham station, a Collins KWM-2A, calling CQ. | Die hard | 1989 | Bruce Willis Alan Rickman Bonnie Bedelia | About 55 minutes into this movie, on Thornburgs desk, a Kenwood TS-711 can be seen together with two Realistic Pro-48's and one unidentified scanner. Also, the terrorists are using Kenwood TH-41AT HT's (referred to as CB) which are capable of amazing things such as full duplex and very sensitive VOX (movie fake of course). ID by: SM0OFV. |
| Die hard 2 | 1990 | Bruce Willis William Atherton Bonnie Bedelia | The terrorists are using Kenwood TH-45AT HT's throughout the film. The counter terrorist team has a Kenwood TS-940 with the SM-220 station monitor on top of it. ID by: SM0OFV. |
| Live free or Die hard ( | 2007 | Bruce Willis Timothy Olyphant Justin Long Maggie Q | McClanes car is equipped with an ADI AR-147 as can be seen in the beginning of the movie. Towards the end of the film, we can also see a Uniden Bearcat BCT-15 scanner, which is installed in the semi trailer. McClane use this one as a CB transceiver (giggle giggle!). ID by: SM0OFV. |

Vanguard to call G7W in London. Next to it is an Eddystone 840/A. The woman is killed and the scene shifts to London, where more than ten Racal RA-17L or RA-117 receivers are displayed (it's impossible to see the difference between the two). ID by: SM0OFV. |
| Dukes of Hazzard | 2005 | Seann William Scott Johnny Knoxville Jessica Simpson Willie Nelson | There are several CB rigs seen in this comedy. The Duke's Dodge Charger sports a Cobra 29 WX NW ST, Boss Hogg's Cadillac has a white Cobra 75 WX ST and Cooters tow truck is equipped with a radio I haven't ID'd yet. ID by: SM0OFV. |
| Frequency | 2000 | Dennis Quaid James Caviezel Shawn Doyle | In this movie, a Heathkit SB-301 plays a central role. It's used as a transceiver, but as you probably know, it's actually a receiver only. ID by: SM0OFV. |
| High heels and low lifes ( | 2001 | Minnie Driver Mary McCormack Kevin McNally | In the beginning of this action comedy, a Kenwood TM-V7 is used to eavesdrop on cellphones. The frequencies displayed are far from any cellphone segment, but I don't really care as it's still nice to see "our" equipment on the silver screen. ID by: PU4RRM. |
| Lethal weapon 2 ( | 1989 | Mel Gibson Danny Glover Joe Pesci Patsy Kensit | In the beginning of this action movie, the police officers are listening in on Riggs & Murtaugh's hot pursuit with a Realistic Pro-48 and a Pro-2001. ID by: SM0OFV. |
| Nightwaves | 2003 | Sherilyn Fenn David Nerman Bruce Dinsmore Francis X McCarthy | This Canadian TV-movie is a crime story woven around eavesdropping. The scanner in question appears to be a Uniden/Bearcat BC-898T which is hooked up to all sorts of audio equipment and controlled by a computer. ID by: SM0OFV. |

| Vanishing point | 1996 | Viggo Mortensen Jason Priestley Peta Wilson Keith David | In this remake of the 1971 movie, Kowalski buys a used Realistic Pro-48 from an ex marine to monitor the police activities. The local broadcast station (KBHX) is listening in with a Realistic Pro-2022. ID by: SM0OFV. |
| Virus | 1999 | Jamie Lee Curtis Donald Sutherland William Baldwin Joanna Pacula | In this Sci-Fi movie, the crew is running around on a science ship, using Kenwood TH-27A HT's. For one brief moment, one of them is clearly displayed. ID by: SM0OFV. |
